Abstract. The results of studies of methods of measuring signal propagation delays in optical amplifiers are shown. The schemes of measuring installations realizing the listed methods are presented, the main sources of errors of measurements of signal delays in optical amplifiers are given, expressions for estimation of measurement error bounds are proposed. Recommendations on the choice of measurement methods and instrumentation of measuring installations for measuring signal delays in optical amplifiers with a given accuracy are given.
