Abstract. Bulk volumetric measures of radionuclide activity are widely used for calibration of spectrometers in the working geometry. These measures are noted for their radiation safety, long service life, and high resistance to climatic factors. However, these measures have a significant drawback — the difference in the properties of the measure (the average charge of the nuclei of matter) from the properties of measurement objects with increased material density. The article presents the physico-chemical properties of new volumetric activity measures manufactured using improved technology, as well as a comparative analysis of the characteristics of volumetric measures manufactured using both the original and improved technologies.
Keywords: volumetric measure of radionuclide activity, spectrometry, radiometry, closed radionuclide photon radiation sources for metrological purposes, registration efficiency
