Abstract. A passive method for time scales comparison using geostationary satellites is described, with one of the satellite communication stations operating in receive-only mode. This method enables time scale comparisons with an unlimited number of simultaneously operating receiving stations and ensures user radio silence. Implementation of the method requires determining the coordinates of the geostationary satellite. Three implementation options are considered for the requirements of different time scale comparison accuracy classes. Experimental results are presented.
