Examples of breakthrough metrological researches in such areas as time and frequency measurements, coordinate-time, relativistic, temperature, physico-chemical measurements are given, their role in ensuring the uniformity of measurements in accordance with the requirements imposed by the current level of science and technology development is assessed.
