Abstract. The results of a theoretical study aimed at further improvement of the State primary standard of temperature unit GET 34-2020 are presented for discussion. The theoretical foundations of a new method for reproducing the temperature unit for the high temperature region (range from 1357 to 3200 K) are considered as a possible alternative to the method of conditional primary thermometry, which is the basis of this standard. Equations for measuring methods are presented for three physical quantities — temperature, spectral emissivity of the blackbody model cavity and quantum efficiency of the trap detector, which are part of the standard. An estimate of the expected uncertainty in the reproduction of the temperature unit is given. The profitability and prospects of an alternative method are shown.

Keywords: unit of temperature, reproduction, standard, emissivity, quantum efficiency, reduced emissivity.
