Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of the bistatic method of determining the geoid height profile by GNSS signals reflected from the water surface. The comparison of bistatic and altimetric satellite methods is carried out, the advantages of the former are shown. The existing methods and basic operations of determining the geoid height profile based on the bistatic method are considered. The developed algorithm for determining the geoid heights based on this method is presented. A review of well-known Russian and foreign implementations of the bistatic method is performed and the main results are shown.
Keywords: geoid heights, bistatic method, nanosatellite, GNSS signals.
