Development and research of a highly sensitive cesium Mx-magnetometer for hydro-magnetic studies

Abstract. This article presents the results of the development and research of a highly sensitive quantum Mx-magnetometer with optical pumping, designed for hydro-magnetic studies at great depths of the World Ocean. The principles of the magnetometer’s operation are described, including the optimization of the radio frequency field amplitude based on resonance steepness, which enhances its resolution capability. The results of comparisons with traditional methods confirm the advantages of the new device.
