Abstract. The results of model calculations of the effective areas of piston pairs for ultrahigh pressures are presented. The under-piston pressures ranged from 0,1 to 1,6 GPa. The effective areas of piston pairs with different working fluids differ from each other. The differences obtained have been compared with the error limits of the working standards of class 0,003 and 0,005.
