Abstract. The paper considers problem of estimating the integral content of components of chemical composition of substances and materials in the tasks of control, recording and monitoring of their production, generation of waste, emissions and discharges in industrial-scale volumes at the given volume and mass of a substance (material) at certain time moments or intervals, based on mean estimates. The importance of taking correlations in the data into account for the correct estimation of the uncertainty of the mean is illustrated.

Keywords: integral content of substance composition, automatic control system, autocovariance function.
