Abstract. The article is devoted to the proposed new criteria for evaluating the accuracy of coordinate measuring machines (CMM). The accuracy criteria have the form of geometrically and algebraically calculated averages of known partial accuracy indicators of the CMM, which are: the MPE indicator; the known volumetric error indicator of the CMM. It is shown that the criterion based on the geometric average has no extremum from the indicator L. At the same time, the algebraic average of the above components reaches a minimum at a certain value of L. The fact that there is a minimum of the algebraic average of these components, called the generalized error, can be used in the theory and practice of CMM.

Keywords: coordinate measuring machine, volumetric error, accuracy evaluation criterion, geometric average, maximum permissible error.
