Abstract. Measures of particle sizes in a liquid based on monodisperse polystyrene latex spheres have been developed. A method for obtaining measures of particle sizes in a liquid by emulsion polymerization using sodium laurate salt in the presence of an excess of the dispersion medium is proposed. Measures of particle sizes in a liquid with a nominal particle size value of 0.07 microns (MRH-0.07) and 0.1 microns (MRH-0.1) with values of relative error in reproducing the size (average diameter) of particles within 5 % are obtained.

Keywords: particle, polystyrene latexes, microemulsion, suspension, GET 163-2020, standard sample, emulsion polymerization, colloidal particle.
