Abstract. The scheme of a measurement experiment to determine the reflection coefficient of sound from a material sample using a virtual low-element phased radiating array is considered. The results of modeling are presented, confirming the possibility of synthesizing a sound wave with the front parameters necessary for irradiation of the sample. Supplementing the weighting of the radiation signals by amplitude by weighing by phase makes it possible to reduce the number of array nodes many times — from four hundred for a measurement scheme using a virtual Trott array to twenty-five in the considered examples. This makes it possible to significantly reduce the labor intensity and duration of the measurement experiment, to reduce the risk of the influence of factors caused by the instability of the measurement conditions over time.

Keywords: sound reflection coefficient, virtual phased array, sound beam with a flat front.
