The article deals with the issue of detecting metrological failures of mea\u00adsuring channels in the Automated Information Measurement System for Commercial Electricity Metering (AIMS CEM) based on the correlation coefficient of the actual and allowable imbalance. The method is based on the analysis of balance ratios applied to closed-type electric power systems. As such a closed electric power system, the article uses mathematical modeling on a single bus system of a 110 kV substation fully equipped with electricity metering using measuring channels of the AIMS CEM. The balance ratio is used as an integral control and definition of the criterion for detecting a metrological failure.
