Abstract
The paper considers the possibility of estimating microbiological contamination in conditions of confined inhabited objects using optical light-scattering airborne particle counters. For this purpose, for the three micromycete species — Aspergillus sydowii, Cladosporium cladosporioides and Penicillium chrysogenum, which are most common in such rooms, the optical sizes of equivalent spheres corresponding to each type of spore, as well as the size ranges of particles detected by the counter, characteristic of these spores, were found. The ratios of the number of particles to the expected number of CFU in the selected sample were also obtained.
