Abstract. Despite the indication of accuracy indicators in certified and standardized methods of quantitative chemical analysis, in some cases laboratories need to independently calculate the accuracy of the measurement results. This necessitates the development of methods for such calculations for specific examples of quantitative chemical analysis.
Using the example of a standardized method for determining the mass concentration of total iron in drinking water, which has many typical features characteristic of quantitative chemical analysis, the sequence of calculating the extended uncertainty of the measurement result is shown and an example of such calculation is given.
