Abstract

The article examines the importance of matrix-type reference materials (RMs) for ensuring high quality of analytical measurements in science and industry. The advantages of using these RMs to improve the accuracy and reliability of measurement results are outlined, and the importance of the qualitative and quantitative composition of matrix RMs is noted. Common problems and existing approaches to the production of matrixtype RMs are highlighted. Particular attention is paid to the research conducted at the D.I. Mendeleev All-Russian Institute for Metrology (VNIIM) aimed at developing RMs for the mass fraction of organic analytes in various types of matrices: the selection of analytes and their corresponding matrices is substantiated, the procedures for manufacturing the RMs material are described, and methods for establishing the certified characteristic of the RMs are considered.
